My wooden floor in the living room got some scratches when a repairman was looking at my chair. And now, I've finally gotten it replaced. The craftsmen had announced their arrival on Monday, April 26th, and the timing was lousy since I had to rush to visit my dad at the hospital on Saturday, 24th. I didn't know what to do if I couldn't be home on April 26th.
I called my neighbors and asked if they would let the craftsmen into my house if I couldn't be home myself. Luckily, that was not a problem, as they would be working from home. I also needed to empty the living room before the craftsmen showed up. That turned out not to be a problem after all since I was able to go home Sunday and empty the living room.
The craftsmen were from the same company as the one who put down a new tile floor in my kitchen, and one of the services they provide is that they help to move the heavy furniture. That is very great because then they moved my sofa, bookcase, TV, and so on.
In less than a day, I had a new wooden floor in my living room. Wow, they worked fast. They didn't know when the painter would come, and since I hadn't heard anything by Thursday, I started putting my stereo, TV, speakers, and so on together. The painter called me Friday and asked if he could come Tuesday. I was happy that he was able to come that quickly, but now I had to move everything again. This time I had to move everything myself, and I decided to put the heavy furniture in the middle of the living room. Fortunately, it was good enough so that the painter could do his job.
The job is well done, and I think that the new floor has greater variation than the old one, and I like that. It's nice that the result is great, but I would have wished that it hadn't been necessary. Then I could have avoided doing all that work :-)
